Sandgate Sea & Food Festival

A fun day for all the family, Bank Holiday Sunday – 26th August, 2012, 12 noon – 6 pm

SandgateNow an established annual event, the Sandgate Sea and Food Festival will once again provide residents and visitors alike with their August Bank holiday entertainment. The steering Group have worked tirelessly to ensure that every form is correctly submitted, law is observed, licenses secured and, of paramount importance, the health and safety of all protected.

The event kicks off on the Saturday evening with live music and the ever popular fireworks followed on the Sunday with the children enjoying the antics of stilt walkers, a pirate and a Punch & Judy show. Adults will also find a wealth of entertainment on land and water. Live music will be played throughout the day and there will be a performance of Gurkha dancing.

You can enjoy the tastes of Sandgate, with Mexican Fajitas from Escondido, Nepalese dishes from the Gurkha Palace, delicious bread and pies from the Sandgate Master baker on the Rowing Club balcony plus a hog roast or pints of prawns and moules mariniere from the Ship Inn washed down with some fine real ales from their famous beer festival. You will be able to select your cut of meat from the Old Hall Farm, Brookland stall and have it cooked on a BBQ or enjoy a delicious burger from Juicy Joy's.

Saga have once again kindly donated a luxury fifteen night cruise to The Canaries and North Africa which will be auctioned details to be given at a later date. A raffle will also be run offering some excellent prizes.
